Ian is the Co-Founder of HVM with Dalton Hartley, which was established over 25 years ago in a single office. As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional, Ian has been meeting the accounting needs of companies and individuals in the Durban area for the past 25 years.

Ian earned his accounting degree from the University of South Africa and is a registered Professional Accountant with The South African Institute of Professional Accountants. He has also completed his honours degree in Taxation. Ian has been consulting in the SME space for the last 15 years and gets great satisfaction in the successful growth of his clients. If Ian is not at the office, he enjoys going on holidays with his family, which is his greatest asset.

Bridget is a qualified SAIPA Professional Accountant, having been with HVM for the last 11 years and with over 20 years of accounting experience.

Bridget is the engine room of the business and prides herself in ensuring the highest quality of work is delivered to the client. No problem is too big for Bridget to solve, and she loves applying herself to those problems that others might shy away from.

Bridget is a self confessed workaholic and is the most wonderful source of accounting knowledge. She really enjoys fishing, beer in hand.

Wesley has been at HVM for 11 years and has a passion for Financial Planning. He has completed postgraduate diplomas in Financial Planning and Estate Planning and specialises in these areas.

Wesley is an active member of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa and holds the Certified Financial Planner designation. Wesley’s qualifications and experience have him well equipped to advise clients in the medium to high-net-worth space. He focuses on both wealth protection and creation to ensure clients achieve their goals. Wesley’s philosophy is ‘work hard, play hard’ and always makes time to enjoy the lighter side of life.

Bronwyn is a Certified Financial Planner, studied overseas in the USA, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in financial markets and derivatives, and is also a qualified Stockbroker. Bronwyn worked in the corporate world for 8 years, and in 2012 decided to leave the bigger corporate world and work as an Independent Financial Advisor.

Having set up her own practice 5 years ago, she has now merged with HVM and is the Managing Director of the greater Independent Financial Services business. Bronwyn has a love for orchids and her garden, and delights in watching her two young sons in the pool and on the sports fields.

Howard is the chairperson of our board. He is a lawyer, but he prefers to be thought of as a serial entrepreneur who refuses to let his recent 60th birthday stop him.

Having founded more than 20 start-ups and with four decades of experience on boards of companies, his largest company employs 1,800 staff and serves three continents. With a strong focus on cash flows and enjoying every business he is involved with, Howard sometimes drags himself away from his desk to drive cars on racetracks. Quickly.

Graham heads up our advisory practice. Graham is a CA (SA) with two decades of experience in financial services, including years of involvement with start-ups and business development activities for large and small entities.

With experience across several countries, Graham’s biggest frustration is services that are too complicated and too expensive for entrepreneurs. When he isn’t helping businesses address their challenges, Graham can be found on the racing simulator or planning his return to motorsport.
